Ed Lyons is Socher insurance Agency’s CEO and a shareholder of the company. He joined the family business in 2010. In addition to his duties as an officer of the company, Ed focuses on Business Financials, Growth Strategies, and manages the New Business Development team. He brought fresh insights to the business and the industry from a distinguished career at Safeway. There he ran a strategy team that specialized in growth opportunities, cost reduction and competitive assessment. Ed lives in Livermore with his wife, Trisha and his two children, JessaLynn and Colin. Ed actively supports the local organizations that his kids participate in; West Coast Soccer Club, Livermore Little League, and Boy Scouts of America.
Patrick started with Socher Insurance in 2000 answering phones while in college. He quickly excelled through the ranks, has held nearly every position within the agency, and currently serves as COO, shareholder and Vice President of Operations. Patrick has played a vital role in building the operations of the company from a four-person mom and pop shop to the company it is today. He has always gone against the grain. It’s this attitude that has helped create the unique business model that allows Socher to stand above the rest. Patrick is addicted to life. He spends most of his free time with his beautiful wife and two boys but also saves time to cross out items on his bucket list. Whether it’s traveling across the world, surfing, snowboarding or photography, his biggest passion is experiencing what life has to offer.
Dennis is currently the Senior New Business Development Broker and a shareholder of the company. Apart from bringing in new business to the agency, Dennis’ focus has always been educating Managers and Board of Directors of the importance in choosing suitable insurance coverage as well as helping to understand how insurance applies within the Common Interest Development industry. Dennis has participated in numerous speaking engagements and consistently participates in industry organizations, such as ECHO, CACM, CAI. His continued involvement within the industry has proven to play a vital role in our agency’s development.
Lorena is one of Socher Insurance Agency’s longest tenured account managers. Starting with the agency in 2001 as the receptionist, Lorena then quickly moved into the world of Account Management. Eventually she earned the role of Client Service Manager for the renewal team. Lorena has assisted in the training and ongoing education of her department. Coming from the hospitality industry, Lorena strongly emphasizes excellent customer service. After almost 15 years of managing the renewal team, growing the department, and implementing a legacy of outstanding client service, Lorena stepped into the Accounting Department to expand her knowledge base on an additional service provided by the agency. 2020 will bring Lorena back to full time Management of our ever growing Renewal Department. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and is kept very busy by her 3 beautiful and rambunctious daughters.
Charlotte Allen walked through the doors of Socher Insurance Agency in 2005 and since then has successfully aided in the acquiring and retention of insuring over 1,000 common interest developments. As Director of Marketing, Charlotte works collaboratively with our agents to highlight our service, knowledge and dedication. Her commitment remains focused on educating common interest developments and their managers in some of the most prevalent issues faced today. Charlotte is an active participant of CAI, ECHO and CACM and has circuited over two dozen seminars, tradeshows and speaking engagements. Her dedication certainly does not end at Socher Insurance. She is also a devoted wife and mother of two and spends countless hours volunteering in and around her community. She has served on her children’s Parent Teacher Organization board over seven years and has tackled the role of President, School Liaison, and Chair of many fundraising events. Her hobbies include cooking, hot yoga, and her commitment to excellence in public education.
Derek has been committed to the insurance industry since his insurance career launched back in 2008. He worked for a small independent insurance brokerage in San Francisco that mainly handled personal lines and small commercial business. He was given the opportunity to start with Socher Insurance in 2011 as an assistant to our Account Managers which helped expand his knowledge within the Common Interest Development industry. Derek’s responsibility, knowledge and leadership have grown throughout the years and he currently serves as Manager for our New Business Insurance Carrier Services Department. His role involves managing a team that is dedicated to helping the new business brokers obtain competitive insurance bids. Derek works closely with our various insurance underwriters and manages and implements carrier guidelines/restrictions. He has been recognized and honored within our agency for his enormous contributions to his developing department.
Derek and his growing family enjoy spending quality time doing all types of fun outdoor activities. He is a passionate Bay Area team supporter and attends numerous Giants, Warriors and 49er games.
Kayla began her career with Socher in 2014, with an adept background in banking. She quickly earned her Insurance License and learned the intricate needs to better protect common interest communities. Kayla now manages the team she started with, Insurance Carrier Services. She is a resident of Pacifica, the same small beach town she grew up in, and is a proud Mom of a son, daughter and fur baby. Kayla is an avid music lover, enjoying all genres of music, with a special love for Country. Her hobbies include attending concerts, bike riding with the kids, exercise, reading and gardening.
As a fifteen-year resident of Sacramento, and a native Hoosier, Kevin is a big Sacramento Kings fan. Kevin received both his undergraduate degree (Marketing) in 2003 as well as his Masters degree (MBA) in 2012 from Sacramento State University. With over ten years of sales and account management experience across various industries, including employment at AT&T and Hewlett Packard, Kevin brings a level of professionalism and client relations insight that has allowed him to excel in the commercial insurance industry. As a Sacramento based representative of Socher Insurance Agency, Kevin’s sales territory primarily covers the Central Valley and Foothills region of Northern California. He has assisted clients with their insurance needs throughout the diverse state of California in various and unique markets such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Lake Tahoe. Kevin is an engaged father and can be found many weekends with his son in Folsom, CA participating in soccer and golf activities.
Todd was brought onto Socher Insurance in March of this year to represent Socher in the Arizona Market. Todd has over 5 years in the insurance industry where he built a book of business with small and midsize companies. He also received his Finra securities licenses series 6 & 63 to help his business clients set up companies 401k plans and individual retirement accounts. He has experience on the account management side as well where he managed a multimillion-dollar book of commercial insurance business. Todd has a background in marketing where he started up 2 advertising companies as well as being in sales for 12 years. Todd brings a unique sales approach by putting the clients first and establishing a long-lasting relationship built on service and trust. When not providing for his clients or searching for new business, Todd and his wife volunteer at local animal rescue shelters and have themselves rescued five loving dogs…Todd’s personal mantra, “Carpe Diem!” Seize the Day.
Paula has been specializing in Common Interest Developments for nearly 20 years and has been with Socher Insurance since 2013. She brings vast knowledge and vital hands on experience to our Account Manager team. Paula is a dedicated daughter and the primary care giver for her elderly father. She is married and has 3 children and 6 wonderful grandchildren, which are the light of her life. Her hobbies include cake decorating and in her spare time you can find her on the highway riding her Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Maria has been with Socher Insurance since 2012, having several years of prior experience insuring Common Interest Developments (CID). Her specialties include Earthquake coverage, Workers’ Compensation, and Business Owners Policies (BOPs). Years of wholesale brokerage experience with a commercial insurance firm in San Francisco has made Maria a beacon of knowledge for our team. Maria regularly attends seminars and continues to pursue educational classes. She is currently accredited with 2 designations: Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and Property and Risk Insurance Specialist (PRIS.)
Cecilia joined the Socher team in the summer of 2013 as a member of our Insurance Carrier Services Department. During that time, she gained expertise understanding our various insurance carrier appetites as well as the ins and outs of policies and numerous policy forms. She has since become the newest member of the Account Manager team and is actively developing strong relationships with her clients. Cecilia has both an Associates of Art and a Bachelors of Science degree. She uses her education and previous work experience to relate to and better understand the Insurance industry. She plans to pursue her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) certification and add to her expanding knowledge. Cecilia is also a devoted wife and mother of a growing family and two erratic four-legged felines.
Geri Navarro comes to us, a well polished Agent, with more than 20 years experience in the Insurance Industry. She has worked for several of the Bay Area’s largest brokerage houses. Her experience includes Common Interest Developments and expands to Construction, Technology, Non-Profit Social Service, Manufacturing, Grocery Stores and more. A proud mother of her grown son Matt, Geri now enjoys a bit of free time and often fills it with Zumba Fitness. She even aspires to teach it to others one day! She currently lives in the East Bay with her husband and two fur babies, Princessa and SweetPea.
Vanesa has been a devoted employee at Socher Insurance since 2003. During her tenure she has worked hard to gain valuable knowledge and priceless experience in the Common Interest Development (CID) industry. Her quick response to clients and dedication to education, both in and out of board meetings, has made her a respected partner to the communities she serves. Vanesa is a mother of two young boys and spends much of her free time running around with (or behind) them. She finds relaxation listening to music and socializing with long-time friends over a good bite to eat.
Account Manager Sharice Swayne, might be new to insurance but the HOA industry has always been her passion. You might say she grew up in the industry, surrounded by a family of community managers. It was inevitable that she would pursue a career in this field. Sharice comes to Socher with ten years of community management under her belt and she is eager to help fellow managers with the insurance side of things. Sharice takes pride in using a blend of professionalism, industry knowledge and a pleasant disposition to provide quality customer service to meet client’s needs and hopefully exceed expectations. In her spare time, she enjoys entertaining family and friends, getting steps in at local street markets, and loving on her fur babies.
For over 16 years Sue worked as an independent contractor for various small businesses. She came to Socher Insurance in 1999 when she married Jack Socher, the founder of our agency. At that time, Socher Insurance was a three-person shop. Throughout the years, as the business has grown, Sue has been instrumental in implementing ideas and processes that have allowed the Accounting Department to expand. This includes training, management and reconciling the corporate financials. In her spare time she enjoys golf, spending time with Jack and all of the fun that comes with ten grandchildren.
Melanie has been part of the Socher team since 2007. She has single handedly run the Receivables and Payables for the agency, and has participated in creating new policies and procedures that have allowed the company to grow. Her commitment to excellence and dedication to detail and deadlines have ensured that policies remain in good standing. In turn this has helped her build credible relationships with all our clients. She is a health and fitness enthusiast, and enjoys exercise and healthy cooking. She also is a devoted mother and wife, and loves spending time with family and friends.
Cherish began her career with Socher Insurance in early 2016 and quickly earned a vital role as Manager of our newly developed Claims Department. She has 15 years of experience in customer service and problem solving in various industries. Cherish is happily married and enjoys spending time with family and friends, being in the kitchen cooking new recipes, and taking care of her fur babies.
